Pico Microbot - the Smallest Robot in the World?
Writte by KAYK the 13/04/2007

Designed and built by Zac Wheeler, the Pico robot (aka mini-bot) could quite possibly be the smallest robot in the world on account of the fact that it measures in at a mere 0.5 of an inch (12.5mm each side).
Capable of running for 15 minutes, the Pico miniature robot is powered by two tiny Didel MK04S-25 motors and is able to sense obstacles via an inbuilt IR sensor though, as is evidenced in the video below showing the robot strutting its stuff around a beer tin (never an obstacle for us), it has a tendency to drive itself off the table.
If you would like to learn more concerning the Pico minibot you can do so be heading over to Zac Wheeler’s website.
