Power Line Inspection Robot

New Orleans is the testing ground for the University of Washington's
cable inspection robot which crawls along power lines looking for
insulation cracks and other problems. The jointed frame is controlled
by an array of 3 Atmel controllers and multiple 12V motors driving
plastic rollers. Specially designed
sensors and processing components measure the properties of the
insulation which feeds data to a local DSP for processing.
